I scanned all the comments to see if another “foreigner” would have commented, and aside from Frances…I pretty much could predict how parents would weigh in. Granted I’m an immigrant, and while I could never share or report another’s child’s grades or mine publicly…then or now…I understand the huge cultural differences. I suspected you weighed how much of a difference it would have made if you confronted her…I understand both talking to her and not.

Glad that all is well that ended well…your son didn’t seem bothered and they remain friends.

I think the cultural lesson on why it didn’t do harm…and why are they still friends is what I wish many born and raised in the US would try to understand. It would help shed light on a few problems western society has with the way they are approaching education as well as its lack of priority.
