I only have one sister, we are so close in age, and relied upon each other for so much emotionally, it gave me a warped definition of sisterhood/brotherhood. We are terribly close.

We both presently struggle with our growing children and how they do not have the closeness we did…as you alluded, it truly is a unique dynamic that is not controlled. I am saddened my boys aren’t as close as I am to my sister, but I’ve watched my husband grow closer to his brother post 40 years old…so it gives me hope that relationships can continually change—hopefully for the best.

I’m glad you made the best of this reunion, what a special gift to the cousins…it truly is a beautiful thing to bring them together.
