We are about to travel - I'm trying to make sure he understands, be sure to leave with your passport always when traveling internationally - before we drive off I stop and say, "Hey - so real quick go through the check of what is a must?" ---

He answers:

huh -- head set?

Um yeah no.

LOL - passport, wallet or phone would have been great answers...
