I can't speak for Francis, but I feel pretty certain we both agree with your point:

I tried to be clear in that I do respect her choice; I respect her freedom and strength to stand by her convictions.

The only opinion I shared was that stating, "I will not change for anyone or anything" is a dangerous statement. That's all - could have been worded differently.

As I shared - there's more to it -- and what's also at fault is a platform of sound bites that has encouraged difficult and long conversations to be sent via a sound bite, where I feel a fruitful conversation requires time and effort.

Just as you and I are sharing with dialogue.
