I agree! -- it's curious.

Truth is, I've always imagined "read time" would have errors - the positive thing is: it errs on the upside. But - I wonder if Medium as a platform says, "look we know people don't want to read more than 4-6" -- so for anyone staying over 10 minutes - we don't want to pay nor encourage that."

That's how I see it in a business model - and I think they cap it. How? Don't know...THOSE are all entirely theories - LOL.

We could try to prove this by just reading all those 12+ articles - but I don't have that kind of time. Plus I need to read the news and books! 😂...
