Honestly Susan, after the December post which I really wanted to get "off" for therapy reasons ;-) -- I was curious whether I would earn anything on it -- because there were already rumblings. I had not posted enough to know if I'm already in the dumps because I am not consistent. But I've done the comparison and definitely Medium switched gears - I can't tell if it happened at the end of December or the start of this year. I knew something was up, because our older stories typically show up with some cents by the 2nd or 3rd day of the month. However this month --there are very few stories in my paid stories --markedly less. The December story is getting some reads and they are giving me $0 for some reads and then cents for others...something is up.

Toni sent me the Scott story this morning, I dug deeper and many of our friends are posting today describing the dumps.

My theory - it's happening to everyone. Some are saying it's not everyone...but I highly doubt it.

I understand the need to stop "a steal" - but tell everyone: hey, heads up - we are changing things until further notice. Once all bots and AI dealt with, we will resume. Period -

Just communicate - decisively, clearly and timely. And by all means, do what they need to do. I don't claim this must be easy.

But the clear anger from many tells me, it's going to take a lot to save Medium from this deep sink. Hoping for the best my friend...

I just don't know. It's all disheartening.
