Hmm—interesting, I didn’t realize this article was in reference to just being in the United States or about white and black people ONLY in United States.

I would normally ignore a comment with a condescending, irritable tone but I’m taking exception today. My comment was entirely written with the purpose of agreeing with the author’s sentiment and to share a personal anecdote that demonstrates:

We all, in all races, have moments of surprise and awe seeing features we are not familiar with. Period.

The undertone in your comment displays the anger and frustration at racism. The blatant and grave injustice is not only well founded upon facts, and but very much understood by me. I’m fervently against what has been done to blacks and continues to be done in systemic ways.

But this story was not about that—not even in the furthest, slightest bit, for me.
