Hi TB! I am from South America - and plantains are found all over that continent too...married to a Nigerian, so it was just a fun anecdote on the rice and banana thing...but yes, well aware plantains are eaten in so many countries (and it's not a Nigerian thing)...thanks for reading and chiming in!

That's too cool the have the banana wine - wonder if that's like "palm wine" - which is what I've heard of in Nigeria? Had no desire to taste that - especially since the last time my husband had it, he was grossly ill?!
