Hi Art! Some thoughts:
Actually, before I share them let me say this: I come alive when I’m in the presence and am helping others. Period, it’s who I am.
If how you approach yourself in wanting to be better or do better means you are a little harder on yourself may simply be a result of high standards.
If you love others more than yourself or rather feel that way, I think it could be “semantics”…you may love yourself just as much —it just looks different and it certainly feels differently. Know why I can say that?
Because that’s how I feel. I can tell you that how I love others feels wondrous, large and absolutely all -encompassing. Yes I love myself but it doesn’t feel that way…in fact if I do too much for myself, I feel guilty and think, nope: back to serving the world!
But I feel that is just how I’m wired. I don’t fight it…it makes me feel good when I love others and they love me that way—and that love, from others: nothing like it.
So anyhow—I sense you are similar. And Art—if through this Medium (pun intended) we can feel your love for others, you have to be the kindest and most loving man. So let it be! Keep living intentionally and authentically as you always say—know it’s felt and seen!
Wishing you peace and joy—always, Art.
Keep writing!!
