Having never grown up around guns, never been around one being shot - at least nowhere close....I've never even held any type of weapon -- this was interesting to read.

I have many relatives and friends who do - and value them. I've never understood it. My husband wanted us at one point to have one in the house - and I was adamant that I did not want it. (I'm glad he wasn't fervent about it).

I can see where you're coming from, understanding your childhood and background. But I will be honest - I smiled when I read you gave it up.
