It's interesting I did stop my read and listened to the video -- I found it odd, such a long communication came out to be "you're beautiful!"

Seriously?!!

But to your point - I love how you reminded the power of words to not only build up but to denigrate...

It is a bit off-putting to make someone feel so good and yet you're insulting them; this reminded me of an experience in high school.
