Good point Riley; it's a beautiful interface for writing - hands down they've simplified, getting in and writing and having it look professional. And it works seamlessly, but I see Medium very much like a social media of readers and writers - that's what makes it powerful and why their bottom line will grow, so long as that community is supported. So, let us see and find each other, and understand what kind of reader/follower relationship we have with one another so as to know how to best spend our time. The more followers we have, we are going to have to be choosy. Everyone has a life outside of Medium...
