The day after the dinner invite at Esther and Amber’s apartment, my sister reminded me of the upcoming luncheon.
“Nat, Dr. Oladipo is inviting a few international students for a home-cooked meal as the semester is over. He told me to bring along my sister — so don’t forget, it’s tomorrow in the afternoon.”
“Oh — okay, that’s nice of them to include me.” My sister worked under Dr. Oladipo’s supervision as a work-study student in the African Studies department.
Leaving campus granted us the fun opportunity to peek into life after college in the United States. It wasn’t feasible for many of us to fly back home during the breaks — and which college student doesn’t love a home-cooked meal?
