Everyone has said truly the best comments -- just wanted to say thanks for teaching us in your story, and it's quite admirable what both you and your husband did for your parents. I think everyone will question each step of the way and how much was too much or too little; have seen caregiving but in large extended families - and the reality is: it tends to fall on one. Strange huh?

Your love for your Dad completely shined through in all of this - and he was a wonderful person; it must be hard writing about someone you love so much who hurt you and made many mistakes.

I talked to my Dad yesterday - and he wants me to write a memoir of his life. Your story encourages me to capture and love/enjoy my dad as much as possible...much love and gratitude to you!
