Couldn’t have been an easy one to write…thanks for sharing this with us Ellen: such a testament to how as we continue to “age” we eventually understand and see things more clearly…putting this to writing is a gift to your mom and I know she’d be touched. I’ve watched my mother share some reflections about her own mom, and I say this with care—someday my mom will gone, if I have the fortune of outliving her, and I know I’ll have moments when I say: oh, wow…now I get it.
