Coach, I understand most of us have no idea what goes on "behind the scenes" to provide such a successful platform to writers and readers.

The earning numbers in your MPP, however, were always clear to me. From the moment I joined in June 2022 until July 31st, 2023, it was clear:

The more time members read our pieces: the higher the pay. Relatively simple.

Yes, there was the factor of sharing our fee so if we read 100 pieces in a month versus the reader who read 5 in a month - it would be distributed differently.

August 2023 rolled around.

Engagement was clearly rewarded and the time spent reading still clearly mattered.

A boost did have a multiplier effect. (This month it doesn't earn the same)

In August, I saw an increase of over $10 in one article for 28 reads (87% read ratio). Today, 19 reads earned me $0.72 (60% read ratio).

The drastic change in earnings is crystal clear.

So I have but one ask - I am not requesting details that I am not privy to.

Is how we are paying now going to continue for the foreseeable future?

Should we assume that how we were paid in August and the first 24 days in September, is now a thing of the past?

The answer to that question provides closure to hoping/questioning/wanting Medium to pay us as we saw in August.

I just want that door closed and for it to be clear.
