Belcairn, so well written and a reality of so many nations. As the wealthy get richer and more powerful, they forget that a healthy middle class keeps them safe and striving. But nope, they are lost in a world that can be stripped away as that middle class disappears. The same has slowly happened in the US...makes me so sad to read this about Canada because it truly was a model country of how good things can be.

I worry about where these next 20-40 years will take us with so many democracies on the brink of collapse, with leaders who want to exercise absolute power and no healthy middle class. It doesn't look pretty...
