We used to do this too. One time I was so young, and I made lemonade for the workers.

My mother eventually heard music and came out and asked—why was I playing music?
I told her that they asked and I obliged…she loves that story and like you beautifully wrote here, what magnificent innocent times when we took the time to visit, listen and ask questions and spent time with those who came to do a service and we thanked him for their honorable labor.
