AW, I loved how you created such cozy and personal space for the "reader" --

I was like that reader for over a year. I truly just wanted to read. I never understood why people followed me as I had nothing in my account, but never thought much of it. I wasn't even an active enough person to be following tons of writers. I became a Medium member far before even knowing one could earn money.

In April this year I started to pay attention to some articles that started mentioning the partner program. I had no idea. I started to consider it and the more I did, the more excited I became.

I had over 100 followers from having read for over a year and commenting - because I genuinely enjoy engaging. It's what I don't see on other platforms and find it so rewarding. Interestingly most writers ignored me -- LOL -- but it never bothered me, I just wanted them to know how much I enjoyed their piece.

I loved this article as a truly great reminder -- we are readers and do grow and learn perhaps even more when we take the time to appreciate the privilege it is.
