I would love to learn and read of your friend's story - I've never heard those from Australia and yet, as you rightfully compared - it's one and the same right? I had to edit out and decided to not put our family's reaction...but we too saw a little of that. But your mate's sounds much deeper...and truly painful to realize that was and perhaps is still a reality.
