All of the responses are spot….thank you, Terry, for the privilege to learn from your reflection.

What stands out to me is the calm wisdom of how your parents dealt with it and not succumbing to fear and over protection —I crave that in parents this day and age. I’m so done with the other pendulum of where so many are not independent and are unable to think and “feel” on their feet —understanding how to assess situations.

I just feel we need to get back to some balance and yes, it’s more dangerous these days, I get it—but is living in fear the answer?…maybe I’m missing other perspectives but that just stood out in your story….

More importantly I love the silver lining of what it helped you understand within you and your life….it’s powerful. I think there’s so much to that many of us can learn from that.
