AJ - thanks for sharing; it really helps me understand my son who can't yet explain things as a mature adult, and I can't tell you how much I value these articles.

Question - out of curiosity: which may be different across countries -- but at least where you are:

When is it appropriate or rather, has it ever been appropriate or well received to tell employers that you do have ADHD? Is it helpful or do you feel it's looked negatively upon? Would you rather start first - and if the manager is receptive, do you have personal private conversations explaining how you work?

I was thinking about those questions as I read the article...if it's not something you can easily answer, but feel you can in an article - I can wait later on for when it's a better place to share.
