…s any of the rules. They just gave us shin guards and sticks, and whatever happened, happened. Oh… waitaminute. One quick tangent here: there was a thing in field hockey, called “turning on the ball.” It was, apparently, illegal to put your body between the ball and a player of the opposite team. Dumbest rule I ever heard of. How else were we supposed to gain control of the ball, to run it down to our end of the field?
